India on Wednesday won their third successive bilateral T20 series when they clinched a low-scoring thriller against Zimbabwe in Harare. Tied at 1-1, India defended 138 in the third and final T20I to grab the series 2-1 against Zimbabwe.Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was impressed with the side’s bowling unit, especially pacers, as India look to build a good pool of bowlers.”Fast bowling is something you need a good pool for. We have 10-12 bowlers now who can play limited-overs cricket,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation ceremony.Dhoni, who quit Test cricket in December 2014, said close games like today’s, result of which was decided on the last ball of the match, will help the youngsters “mature” as professionals.”Gradually they will graduate to the Test level. Games like these will help them mature, and the fact that we lost the first T20I helped us get more out of the series,” he added.’ZIMBABWE PLAYED WELL’Dhoni also heaped praise on Zimbabwe for their fighting spirit in the series.”What happens in this format is the games get close. Zimbabwe batted, bowled and fielded well in this series, which is why it was a close affair. As the format gets longer, it will be difficult for them to compete. They need more games to get better and better,” he said.CONFIDENT SRANSran, who bagged six wickets in two matches to win the Man of the Series award, said he was confident of defending 21 runs in the final over.advertisement”I had the confidence because the runs were too much. Initial plan was something else but then I changed it after the first 2 balls didn’t go too well,” Sran said. The three-match T20I series saw India hand caps to seven new comers — KL Rahul, Mandeep Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Barinder Sran, Jasprit Bumrah, Jaydev Unadkat and Yuzvendra Chahal.
